Increasing access for homebuyers

For so many, buying a first home has gotten further out of reach. Affordable homes are limited, interest rates remain high, and — according to Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies — home prices have jumped 60% since 2019.

Through the Open the House Initiative, Progressive is committed to giving people the tools and knowledge to buy a home, sustain a home, and build wealth along the way. It's all part of our mission to open doors for future homeowners and strengthen communities.

Since 2024, we've contributed over $16M

Our investments are helping more families purchase and keep their homes, building a lasting legacy through homeownership. In 2025, we teamed up with housing organizations across the country to make a real impact — and we're not stopping there. In 2026 and beyond, we'll keep investing to reach even more aspiring homeowners.
